Yvonne & Friends Meetup Group was formed to provide safe and caring social activities for developmentally disabled adults and their families in the community. Our focus centers on replacing the social segregation and isolation that are experienced by some developmentally disabled. The Social Club is part of SociAbilities Services, a project supported by the Asperger Society and Cal State Long Beach. The Social Club is a positive environment with social standards, expectations, and social skills support. It is most appropriate for adult transition-age people on the higher-functioning end of the autism-spectrum.
